Auctions With Altitude

Alan Armstrong - President, Auctioneer

Alan grew up in Gooding County, Idaho where he graduated from Wendell High School. Soon after high school, he moved to the Treasure Valley to attend classes at Boise State University. Alan then joined the US Marine Corps. It was there that he developed a love of aviation as he served in the Marine Airwing serving several overseas duties and in California at Camp Pendleton. After 4-1/2 years as a Marine in the Airwing and serving 7 months of that term in Desert Storm, he decided to move back to Idaho to pursue his entrepreneurial dreams.

After returning home in 1991, Alan began the creation of Armstrong Auctions. In 1992 shortly after graduating from Missouri Auction School, there arose an opportunity for Alan to purchase what later became the Armstrong Auctions Gallery in downtown Caldwell, Idaho. The gallery was open from 1992 'til 2006. The gallery was sold in order to focus our energies on conducting aircraft, real estate, onsite estate and business liquidation auctions.

Alan has been fortunate to sell over 1000 auctions for his own company as well as assist several other auctioneers all over the country. Alan is an avid reader of business, marketing, auction and aviation related books and magazines. Alan is a member of the National Auctioneers Association as well as a graduate of AARE (Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate) and CES (Certified Estate Specialist) courses.

Alan is also a proud member of the AOPA.
